All those rumours of HTC launching Facebook phones were overshadowed by INQ’s launch of Facebook phones, but it seems HTC cannot avoid Facebook after all. What with the latest rumours talking about HTC having a dedicated Facebook button.
The Inquirer says that HTC will be launching smartphones with a Facebook button, but it’s not confirmed whether it will be a physical external button or a touch-sensitive button. What it does mean is that you can log onto your Facebook account directly without repeatedly entering your password.
There is also word that the latest HTC smartphone will also feature alerts for videos or photos that are posted by your friends. Users can also access real-time status updates.
Although still in rumour stages, seeing such a handset shouldn’t be surprising after looking the masses moving onto Facebook, Twitter and other such social networking sites. What remains to be seen is whether such a smartphone is making its way to the MWC 2011 or not. Fingers crossed.
