Cowon Announces D3 Plenue PMP for Indian Market

Cowon’s Android powered PMP the ‘COWON D3 Plenue’ has just been officially announced for the Indian market. This is one of the first PMP’s running on the Android platform to make it to India. With stiff competition from the likes of the iOS running, retina display toting iPod Touch 4th Generation, the D3 Plenue will have its work cut out for it.

Here’s a quick view at the specs -


  • 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen sporting a 480 x 800 pixel resolution and 16 million colors
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0 (proprietary)
  • Full HD video playback support
  • FM radio
  • JetEffect 3.0 &BBE+ audio enhancement technology
  • MicroSD card support up to 32GB
  • HDMI Out (cable sold separately)

Since it uses an NTFS file system it’s convenient to drag and drop large HD files onto the drive. From downloading emails to accessing social networking sites like Twitter and FB, the D3 Plenue is almost as good as any high-end Android smartphone except for the fact it can’t be used to make calls. What the Plenue also seems to lack is access to the Android App Market for downloading applications.

The D3 Plenue is available for pre-order for a price of Rs. 20,000 for the 32GB model and Rs. 18,000 for the 16GB edition.
