Corsair today announced its new line of Solid State Drives (SSDs) with the Force Series 3. The new flagship SSDs are based on the SATA 6 GB/s interface and are powered by the SandForce SF-2281 controller. The Force Series 3 SSDs achieve a read speed of 550 MB/s and writes of 520 MB/s. It also has sequential write speed of along with 85,000 IOPS, which brings in faster response time and quicker bootups.

At the event, Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair said, "With the rapid market adoption of SATA 3, there’s strong demand for affordably priced SSDs that can take advantage of the enhanced performance it provides, Our new Force Series 3 SSDs provide the performance that enthusiasts demand, at price points approaching the current generation of SATA 2 SSDs”

The Force Series 3 SSDs will be available in stores by the end of the month and will retail for $139 (Rs. 6,255) for the 60GB version, $219 (Rs. 9,855) for the 120GB version, and $499 (Rs. 22,455) for the 240GB model.
