I just found this awesome story on Mashable and had to write about it. This new gizmo called the XWave actually allows you to control the graphics on your iPhone with your brain. Talk about mind control! However, this does not mean that you will be able to see naked ladies through your imagination on your iPhone screen with the XWave.
The XWave is a contraption that you wear on your head, and looks a bit like what Professor X from the X-Men wears on his head. It works by communicating with the free XWave iPhone app, which measures brain waves. So when you change your state of mind, the graphics keep changing on the screen of your iPhone.
All you have to do is put on the ridiculous looking headgear, and plug it into your iPhone's audio jack, and you're ready to start messing around with this apparently uncomfortable device. The XWave has a bunch of screens that you can play around with. There’s even one which helps you ‘Attain Nirvana’. The more relaxed you get, the more the colour on the screen turn to the blue part of the spectrum.
Although the XWave seems to work, it can’t really be proven scientifically, but the people who tried out the XWave actually said they saw a difference on the screen as their moods changed. So, is this the first proper commercial step to mind control? Well, you’ll have to cough up $100 if you want to find out!
