CommunicAsia 2010: Samsung Showcases 3 Upcoming Galaxy (Android) Devices

There seems to be quite a bit more form Samsung this year as well at CommunicAsia 2010. Their first Corby Smartphone the i5500 that’s now going by the name Galaxy 5 was also on hand at their booth. It’s an Android based device that features -

  • a 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen
  • 3G connectivity with HSDPA, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi with DLNA
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • Bluetooth with A2DP, USB (micro)
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • FM radio
  • 3.5mm handsfree socket
  • MicroSD card support

According to the picture, the Galaxy 5 will have support for HTML5 as well.
The second Galaxy device on show as the Galaxy 3 that’s also using Android 2.1. It will feature -

  • a 3.2-inch touchscreen
  • 3G connectivity with HSDPA, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi with DLNA
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • Bluetooth with A2DP, USB (micro)
  • 3 megapixel camera
  • FM radio
  • 3.5mm handsfree socket
  • DNSe for audio enhancement
  • DivX and XviD video format support
  • MicroSD card support

It’s possible that the Galaxy 3 would sport the TouchWiz U on top of the Android OS.

Another Galaxy series Android powered handset, the Beam was also present. This is the model that features a built in Pico Projector. It also comes with -

  • a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen
  • 3G connectivity with HSDPA, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi with DLNA
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • Bluetooth with A2DP, USB (micro)
  • 8 megapixel camera
  • FM radio
  • 3.5mm handsfree socket (TV Out)
  • DivX and XviD video format support
  • MicroSD card support

The Samsung Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 will start selling in European and Asian markets from July while Galaxy Beam will launch in July for Singapore customers.
