The app is available on Android powered phones running on platforms 2.1 and above and, is currently available for free across the Android Market round the globe, giving users direct access to CNN’s varied news resources. This means that users can avail news in the form of timely updates, pod casts, radio interviews, and live video-on-demand services, among others. The app will majorly benefit from CNN’s global nature of reporting. On the app, users will be able to share the content, in addition to viewing it. The app is also usable on various nation editions of CNN news.

The app adds a personalisation touch to its news services, i.e. users can pick the news and weather forecasts they wish to view based on their location preferences. It is also possible to save an article for future references, as well as share it via email, Facebook and Twitter.

The Radio section of CNN’s app gets in hourly news updates from a team of radio correspondents for CNN. The app can also inform you about the breaking news on your home screen, itself, using the push-notification feature of the app.
