Cheaper, Wi-Fi Only Version of Samsung Galaxy Tab Could Hit Stores from April 10

It looks like the Galaxy Tab is in the thick of things recently. Earlier the tablet’s price was slashed and then yesterday there were talks of the 8.9 and 10-inch tablets to hit India soon. Now there’s news that Samsung will be launching a Wi-Fi only version of the tablet.

With a wi-fi only version as well...

With a wi-fi only version as well...

Looking at the fact that one of the connectivity options (3G) is absent, it’s quite obvious for us to see a price drop as well. The Wi-Fi version of the tablet has been priced at $349 (approx Rs. 15,500) which sounds like a really good deal. The Galaxy Tab fared quite well when we reviewed it and we would probably love to see the Wi-Fi only version here in India as well. So in case you missed the specifications of the previous Galaxy Tab, it’s as follows. :

  • 7-inch Capacitive Touchscreen encased in Gorilla Glass
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP
  • 3.15 Megapixel camera with autofocus  and LED flash
  • 1.3 Megapixel secondary camera
  • Memory expandable up to 32 GB

The 10th of April doesn't look too far off, but we definitely hope to see the Wi-Fi only version hit stores here in India as soon as possible.
