Want to have a coffee with Apple’s CEO Tim Cook? You can – for a bid higher than $605,000!
Even as CharityBuzz’s auction for a half an hour long coffee date with Cook is in its final leg, bids shooting well over the original $50,000 value have poured in. The bid ends at 2:30 AM IST tonight, mind you. So if you’re an Apple or Tim Cook fan and have a lot of green bills to spare, you can still rush your bids in.
Coffee with Cook
This is CharityBuzz’s second-highest auction so far, behind the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster it auctioned off for $610,000. Proceeds from the winning amount of the Cook auction will go to The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights. The current winning bid by someone named J********n stands at $605,000. It’s the highest of 85 bids that started with $5,000.
"We're truly amazed by the support for The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights through our coffee with Tim Cook online auction," Coppy Holzman, CEO and Founder of CharityBuzz, said in a statement.
The brief meeting is all set to be held in Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California and will go on for a good 30 minutes, all for raising money for a good cause. If you thought only individuals would leap at an opportunity to meet the Apple honcho, think again. One look at the list of bidders for the auction, and you will see there are multiple businesses that have taken a chance at a meeting with Cook.
DrBluetooth is one such company that seemed to be winning at one point of time with a high-bid of $580,000. The company works on building Bluetooth headsets that encrypt voice and can be controlled through gestures. It was soon upstaged by Povely.com, a company that has an audio Bible app in the Apple App Store.
At nearly $20,000 a minute, we sure hope the winner of the bid can cram in as many things he or she wishes to ask of the head of Apple Inc. We envy you!
