Samsung has unveiled its flagship mirrorless, 3D-capable NX300 camera at the ongoing CES event. The company also announced the new NX 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens, the first one-lens 3D system capable of capturing both still images and full HD movies in perfect 3D quality.
The NX300 features a brand new 20.3 Megapixel APS-CMOS sensor, an ISO range of 100 to 25600 and a new Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) system. A maximum shutter speed of 1/6000 and a top speed of 8.6fps for JPG bursts is set to ensure quick shooting.
The Flagship Samsung NX300
Samsung’s in-house DRIMe IV engine will enable better colour reproduction and greater noise reduction as well as support for full 1080p HD video capture in both 2D and 3D, especially when combined with Samsung's new 45mm 2D/3D lens.
The NX300's is equipped with an 84mm (3.31 inch) AMOLED screen for reviewing images and a hybrid touchscreen along with a 5-way manual key interface. The tilt display makes it easier than ever to take high and low angle shots, letting you capture from any angle.
While it doesn’t have Android, the NX300 is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and ability to share images with iOS and Android devices using the Smart Camera App. The camera’s one-touch Direct Link hot key is supposed to make sharing images on social networks easy. Alternatively, images can be automatically backed up or stored in the cloud through AllShare.
The 45 mm 2D/3D lens boasts to be the ‘world’s first’ one-lens 3D system for a consumer camera. Both the camera and the lens are capable of capturing both still pictures and full 1080p HD video, and are apparently the only compact system camera supporting both 3D still and 3D movie.
The NX300 will burn a hole of $750 (Rs. 41,250 approx.) in your pocket and will come with a copy of Adobe Lightroom. The 2D/3D lens will cost a cool $500 (Rs. 27,500 approx.) and will come in black or white. Both the camera and lens are set to be shipped in March.
