CES 2012: Sony shows off new HX, BX and EX range of HDTVs

Sony has announced their new line of Bravia televisions. There are three distinct series - the entry-level BX, the step-up EX, and the flagship HX. The new BRAVIA models offer many of the features that consumers have found in other Sony models. All the three models being launched use dynamic edge LED backlighting with local dimming. The displays use the X-Reality PRO and X-Reality digital video processors, which are meant for video quality enhancements.

The Sony HX850 and HX750 should appear in markets in the first quarter of 2012, but there's no assurance of when they'll land in India. The HX850 has the monolithic design and the display has a Gorilla glass. It's a proper Internet-connected television with built-in 3D support. The EX640 is another model that will debut in the first quarter of the year. It supports most of the features as the HX850 and HX750.

Entry into the Sony line begins with the BX series, with the BX450 model. It's a full HD 1080p display with features such as the noise reduction built into it. The TVs offer consumers apps to use services such as Netflix, Pandora, HuluPlus, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, Slacker Internet Radio, Crackle as well as access to social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Some of the media streaming services of course, might not work in India when the TVs land here.
