Following Acer’s announcement of a new lineup of 3D Monitors and All-in-one PCs comes the launch of two new Android smartphones, the Liquid Mini and BeTouch E210.
The Liquid Mini is by far the more impressive of the two, with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera and Acer’s own SocialJogger app that manages your social networks, all on Google’s Android 2.2 FroYo Operating System. The Liquid Mini will be launched on April 11. The BeTouch E210, on the other hand, runs on Android 1.6 Donut. Wait, what? Anyway, it’s a Blackberry clone QWERTY smartphone that banks more on its messenger capabilities than anything else. The 2.6-inch touchscreen smartphone will release on March 11.
While these phones don't sound too fascinating, there's always the possibility that they carve out a market for themselves. We'll just have to wait until March and April to find out.
