CES 2010: Toshiba Launches Laptops Based on Intel's New Chips

Intel's new processors are out and so are laptops based on it. Toshiba has announced new Satellite, Tecra and Qosmio brand laptops equipped with a full-range of processor options offered in the newly-announced 2010 Intel Core processor family.

Toshiba will offer the Intel Core i3-330M1 processor across six Satellite series consumer laptops as well as in select configurations of the Tecra series business laptops, giving customers the benefits of smart performance at entry-level price points.

Laptops equipped with the Intel Core i5-430M1 processor and Intel Turbo Boost Technology will be available across Toshiba’s Satellite, Qosmio and Tecra series, providing customers with performance for everyday applications and the ability to boost speed as needed for demanding tasks.

For customers wanting ultimate performance for serious multitasking, gaming and demanding multimedia tasks, Toshiba will offer three models from its Satellite and Qosmio laptop series and select configurations of its Tecra laptop series equipped with the Intel Core i7-720QM1 processor.

Satellite A505 Series

Satellite A505 Series laptops are entertainment driven built to provide a total multimedia experience. The laptop offers a high-def 16-inch diagonal widescreen display, smart performance, graphics horsepower, upscale A/V capabilities and premium features to amplify digital entertainment. The Satellite A505 will be available in configurations with the Intel Core i3-330M1, Core i5-430M1 or Core i7-720QM1 processors, as well as NVIDIA GeForce graphics options. Satellite L505/L555 Series
For everyday performance and affordability, the Satellite L505 and Satellite L555 laptops are all-purpose laptops designed for productivity at home, school or work. The laptops feature the new 2010 Intel Core i3-330M1 or Core i5-430M1 processors, plus plenty of memory and storage for enjoying and capturing digital media, like home movies, music and photos. The Satellite L505 features a 15.6-inch diagonal widescreen high-def display and the Satellite L555 features a 17.3-inch diagonal widescreen high-def display. Consumers have three looks to choose from: a simple Silver Finish, an elegant Fusion Finish in Graphite and a more refined Fusion Finish in Midnight Breeze. Satellite M505 Series

Satellite P505 Series
The Satellite P505 Series is designed with multimedia enthusiasts in mind. These laptops deliver 18.4-inches of diagonal screen real estate for creating and editing photos and home movies, plus the performance needed for multitasking, gaming and other demanding tasks with a choice of Intel Core i3-330M1 or Core i7-720QM1 processors and NVIDIA GeForce 310M3 discrete graphics. Satellite U505 Series
Lightweight at less than 5 pounds the Satellite U505 Series laptops feature a 13-inch diagonal widescreen display and is wrapped in a Texture Finish in Luxe Brown, White or Pink. With configurations featuring Intel Core i3-330M1 and Core i5-430M1 processors, the laptop delivers great multimedia performance and entertaining features, plus innovative new mobile technologies – like an optional Touch Screen and built-in WiMax and starts at $649.99 MSRP.

The new Toshiba Satellite laptops featuring the 2010 Intel Core i7 processor will be available on January 12 at major retailers, e-tailers and direct from Toshiba on toshibadirect.com. The Tecra A11 Series
The Tecra A11 Series are performance laptops ideal for medium to large businesses. With desktop-class features, integrated 10-key keypad and a new Texture Finish in Charcoal Black that offers a better grip and reduces fingerprints, the Tecra A11 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The Qosmio X505 series is equipped with a blend of the new 2010 quad-core Intel Core i7-720QM1 or dual core Intel Core i5-430M1 processors with Turbo Boost Technology and enthusiast-class NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M graphics3. The laptops deliver the processing muscle to power through demanding tasks like 3D gaming, media creation and HD video encoding. Qosmio X505 laptops also feature massive hi-speed hard drives, ultrafast memory, premium sound components, plus Blu-ray Disc or DVD drive options. The Qosmio X505 Series starts at $1,199.99 MSRP.
