Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is roughly ten days away from release but according to Venturebeat, pirated copies of the game are already circulating the Internet. It seems Disc 2 of the game was stolen from a packaging factory in Fresno, California by an employee who then leaked it online. He/she couldn’t nab the first disc because security apparently was pretty tight.
Houston we have a pretty big problem
Activision of course have thrown their investigation in high gear and are trying to crack down everyone who’s playing the game. How they’re doing this is beyond me as pirated copies, in most cases can’t be played online and if these pirates don’t appear online, how will they track them down? This whole song and dance of desperately trying to put a lid on piracy isn’t new for Activision. This happened last year with Black Ops and the year before that with Modern Warfare 2 and even then, both games sold phenomenally well.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases on the 8th of November 2011 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.
