As the wait for Treyarch’s wildly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops reaches a feverish pitch, it turns out Germany - as always - will be getting a censored version of the game. I doubt this will surprise anyone considering the game will ship with a co-operative mode where you can team up with up to three friends to slaughter hordes of undead Nazi soldiers.
In the past it seemed Germany’s PC gaming folk would bypass this censorship by either buying or downloading the game from different regions. Now it seems both the retail and digital version will have to be authenticated through Steam that will only verify local versions of this game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops releases worldwide for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC by the 9th of November 2010.
