It is safe to say that most manufacturers in the home audio business have launched soundbars that are gradually becoming quite popular in the market. So, it comes as no surprise when Bose, one of the world’s largest audio technology developers have announced their first soundbars. The Lifestyle 135 and CineMate 1 SR have been introduced to the world in the latter half of last year and after much anticipation, these hi-end soundbars have finally landed on our shores.
Speaking on the launch of these new products, Ratish Pandey, Director of Bose India said, “Most conventional soundbars are bulky and hard to place, or thin but unable to deliver lifelike sound. The new Lifestyle 135 and CineMate 1 SR systems deliver a powerful audio experience that defies their style and elegant design, whether you’re watching a movie, playing a video game, or listening to music.”
The Lifestyle 135 system comprises of a media console that supports up to six HD sources and has four HDMI inputs. It also comes with an AM/FM tuner, a dock for an iPod or iPhone as well as a wireless subwoofer called Acoustimass and universal remote control. The CineMate 1SR system is basically a soundbar with the wireless subwoofer.
With the soundbars, Bose have also introduced two new technologies, called PhaseGuide and Unify. Looking a bit deeper at the PhaseGuide technology, these new soundbars are the first to feature this radiator technology. Bose claims, “Combined with proprietary TrueSpace digital processing circuitry, PhaseGuide technology transforms the listening experience: discrete sound can be heard in places where there are no speakers.” The Bose Unify technology is found only in the LifeStyle 135 system and it serves as a hub for an owner’s home entertainment sources. Bose states, “The exclusive Bose Unify Intelligent integration system makes connecting devices to the console effectively mistake-proof. Easy-to-follow steps are shown on the TV screen, so an owner is guided through the entire process. The result is one seamless system, so easy to operate, an owner’s manual may never be needed.”
The Bose Lifestyle 135 soundbar system is priced in India at Rs.1,79,888, while the CineMate 1SR retails for Rs.1,12,388. Both soundbars will be available for purchase within the next seven days through Bose retail outlets all across the country.
