Borderlands was the world’s first Role Playing Shooter (RPS), which meant it was equal parts (Role Playing Game) RPG as it was shooter. The game also boasted of a bazillion guys (literally) which obviously made it any looters wet dream. For the sequel, the general direction and style still stays the same which means the game is still an RPS that offers four player co-op.
He may be a dwarf but he will still kick your butt
Of course developer Gearbox have ramped up everything else significantly so you have even more weapons (if that was possible), more varied locales, new playable characters with different attributes and of course, newer, tougher enemies. Split-screen co-operative play is also possible now. Last night, Gearbox announced a September release date for this game across all platforms but if you pre-order the game now, you stand to win a bit of in-game swag like the Gearbox gunpack, a golden key and the vault hunter’s relic. Also if the thought of Claptrap shaking his mechanical booty to some dubstep excites you, kindly check out the game’s latest trailer.
Borderlands 2 releases for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC by the 18th of September 2012.
