Excited about BlackBerry 10, but can't switch over to a full touch experience like the BlackBerry Z10? Well here's a touch of happy news. The company is about to launch the BlackBerry Q10 in India soon. BlackBerry teased the imminent entry of the first QWERTY BlackBerry 10 smartphone on Twitter, along with the announcement of a microsite for the phone. The Q10 was unveiled back in January along with the Z10, but has only gone on sale in certain regions since last month.
The Q10 reached pre-order status on online retailers in India and that coupled with BlackBerry’s teasing tweet means the phone is not far from its launch. The pre-order listing says the expected release date is the third week of June.
As for the official price of the phone, we can only guess that it will be close to Rs 40,000. When it was officially launched in the UAE, the phone was being shipped to India for a price of Rs 55,000. The pre-order offer asked for Rs 1000 as payment to book the Q10 and pre-orderers would subsequently be given a discount for that amount when the phone became official.
Such a tease
The BlackBerry Q10 sports a 3.1-inch super AMOLED touchscreen with a 720x720 pixel resolution. So it is a sufficiently dense screen despite the small diagonal size. It also comes with a characteristic BlackBerry QWERTY keypad, which looks as comfortable as any of the company’s previous efforts. It's powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. There is an 8-megapixel rear camera, which is capable of shooting 1080p videos and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera on the smartphone. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and NFC. BlackBerry Q10 also packs in 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 2100mAh battery, which should prove plentiful under moderate usage.
