The BlackBerry line of handsets are increasing steadily. Many models have been released over the last couple of months and have been received with some sort of admiration. BlackBerry fans out there can be further thrilled with the news that a couple of new handsets are set to be announced. These handsets are namely the BlackBerry 9380 and the BlackBerry 9790. The source of this information came in the form of an announcement through a blog post from RIM themselves.

This announcement is targetted at app developers informing them of the upcoming handsets to optimize their apps for these new smartphones. As of now, very little is known about the 9380 and 9790. Via the blog post, RIM has revealed that the BlackBerry 9380 will have a full touchscreen interface akin to that of the BlackBerry Storm. This handset will feature an aspect ratio of 4:3 and have a portrait view of 480 x 360 pixels while in landscape - 360 x 480. The screen size featured here is 3.2-inches with a pixel per inch of 189. The second handset that was sort of announced is the BlackBerry 9790. This has a touch and keyboard interface similar to that of the BlackBerry 9900. This smartphone features a portrait view of 480 x 360 pixels and a landscape view of 360 x 480 pixels. The display size is 2.44-inches with an aspect ratio of 4:3. The pixels per inch of this handset are 245.
There are no official press images of this handset but based on a leaked image, which surfaced a while back we have a fair idea of what the BlackBerry 9790 will look like. Judging from this announcement from BlackBerry, we expect the handsets to be unveiled shortly.
