AT&T backs off from deal to sell smartphones by Huawei due to security concerns: Report

AT&T Inc, the No. 2 U.S. wireless carrier, has backed off from a deal to sell smartphones made by Chinese Huawei Technologies Co Ltd the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter. In a statement, Huawei spokesman Charles Zinkowski said the company would announce new products for the U.S. market on Tuesday “including availability” but did not give further details.
