Fresh from Computex 2013, Asus at its press conference today announced two new devices, the VivoPC and VivoMouse wireless touchpad mouse, both of which are aimed at home entertainment.
The first Asus offering, the VivoPC, is a compact PC that will come to the markets in a spun-metal finish. The vital statistics of the CPU stand at 190 mm, both in length and breadth, and 56.2 mm in height. The VivoPC will come in featuring Asus SonicMaster audio technology, which is supplemented by external speakers.
Additionally, the PC will feature 802.11ac Wi-Fi for HD video streaming and web browsing. Details about the processor, the amount of storage and the RAM capacity of this PC have still not been revealed.

Adding to its expandability quotient, the VivoPC has a sliding case cover which gives access to the two internal memory slots, and to the drive bay which can accommodate a 3.5-inch or a 2.5-inch SATA 6Gbit/s hard drive.
The second offering, the Asus VivoMouse, helps bring together the traditional desktop input and a wireless handheld remote for users to get greater control on their PCs. The mouse can not only be used as a standard optical mouse but also comes with a top surface, which incorporates a large circular touchpad that been optimised for Windows 8 multi-touch gestures.

With these features, VivoMouse can be used interchangeably as a mouse and a desktop touchpad. This add-on will come in handy for Windows 8 PCs which don’t have a multi-touch display. Additionally, the wireless PC connection allows VivoMouse to be used away from the desktop as well, which allows users to control their PCs from anywhere in the room where the unit is placed. The VivoMouse has been made for users with anti-slip plastic. According to the company, the VivoMouse and the VivoPC will be seen in the market in the third quarter of 2013.
