We, recently reported about ASUS unveiling its latest tablet in the market. Now, this might seem to be the perfect case of a product being a winner on the web. When ASUS launched its Eee Pad Transformer, it did mention that it would release only a small number for sale in the US market, since it was saving up on its energy for a massive UK release. It, however, didn’t envision then that its tablet would get completely sold out. Yes, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer has been completely sold out on the online retail store, Best Buy.
Till yesterday, the tablet was up on the site for $399.99. The Transformer is touted as an economical tablet, and its sell-off doesn’t come as a big surprise. And, if you thought economical was equal to lacking in features, then these specifications should come as a surprise to you –
- 10.1-inch IPS Panel at 1280x800 resolution encased in Gorilla Glass
- NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU
- Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb
- 1GB RAM
- 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.2 megapixel front camera with autofocus
- WiFi b/g/n
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Removable Keyboard dock with secondary battery
ASUS should now ideally begin pumping in more of its Transformers in the US market, since that side of its market has been showing some bright results.
