Asus has just introduced two new monitors in India from their Designo range – the 27-inch MX279H and the 23-inch MX239H display. With their attractive looks and edge-to-edge bezel-free screens, the new series displays ensure both style and functionality. The matte anti-glare IPS panel with LED backlighting ensures a wide 178 degree viewing angle with good color reproduction. No word on the official pricing, just yet.
IPS panels FTW!
The new monitors also boast of an incredibly slim profile that’s just 14.5mm thick on the MX239H and 17.5mm on the larger MX279H. Dual HDMI inputs provide flexible connectivity options. Asus’ SonicMaster technology, co-developed with Bang & Olufsen ICE power audio, delivers incredible audio fidelity, too, which means the Designo MX279H and MX239H are also capable of good audio right out-of-the-box. Both monitors feature LED backlighting for the IPS panel, which allows Asus to create a slimmer frame and reduce the overall depth of the monitor. The LED backlight also means that the lighting is more even across the screen, a very important factor when you’re dealing with panels of this size. There’s no doubt that Asus have created an incredibly sexy looking monitor that blends well with their whole ‘Designo’ theme. The monitor also boasts of a circular stand at the bottom, which gives the panel well enough support, while looking stylish at the same time.
Asus have had similar monitor like this one before. We’ve reviewed the ML238H, which you’ll get to see in our monitor round-up coming up soon. This was a 23-inch Full HD monitor with the similar slim profile and styling in mind. It also had built-in speakers and ships with a DVI-HDMI cable. Even though it was a TN panel, the performance wasn’t too bad and it was priced well. The new series however should up the game a little by offering two HDMI ports and a much better IPS panel, in what seems like a much slimmer body.
