Apple will add multi-user support and picture-in-picture mode on tvOS 11 update

As always, Apple is expected to announce some new updates at WWDC which will be happening in the month of June. Apart from iOS 11, macOS 10.13 and watchOS 4, we can expect tvOS 11 for the Apple TV.

A report suggests that this next update for tvOS is going to be a significant one as it might bring in multi-user as well as Picture-in-Picture mode.

As you can see from the mock-up, the update will offer a way to handle multiple Apple IDs. Each profile will have a user's individual account settings including their songs and playlists in the Music app, iCloud Photo Library in Photos, and even change the layout of the homescreen as per their liking. Switching between accounts will be as easy as 'changing a TV channel', says the report.

Another feature that could arrive on the new tvOS update is the Picture-in-Picture mode. It is said that it will work similar to how it was on iOS 9.

A user will be able to watch a video in an app and then continue watching it in a smaller window while browsing the rest of the Apple TV. This means that one can watch a video and see the the weather in another app. Of course, two video streams will not work simultaneously.
