Apple iPhones see an average price rise by 3% after customs duty hike, only the iPhone SE price remains unchanged

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced during Budget 2018 that **customs duty**  will be increased by a margin  15 to 20 percent on the import of smartphones and TVs. Following this mandate, all Apple iPhone models, except for the iPhone SE, are seeing a marginal increase in their price, from 3-5 percent from 5 February onwards. [caption id=“attachment_4194861” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] iPhone X.[/caption] A significant price hike is being noticed in the **iPhone X** 256 GB model which already had a price tag of Rs 1,05,720 and is now selling at Rs 1,08,930. Every phone from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone X will be seeing a price hike, as none of these devices are made in India. The  iPhone SE has an unchanged price tag of Rs 26,000 for the 32 GB variant and Rs 35,000 for the 128 GB variant. And it just goes on to show that it will only help Apple if it makes more of its phone in India. The Apple Watch Series 3 GPS (38 mm) will go from Rs 29,990 to Rs 32,380 and the Apple Watch Series 3 GPS (42  mm) will see a price rise from Rs 31,900 to Rs 34,410.
