According to sources, the Apple iPad 2 and RIM’s PlayBook might have release dates next year with only a few days between them. China’s Economic Daily News has anticipated arrivals of the iPad 2 and BlackBerry PlayBook will be within days of each other in April or May 2011, which can be harmful for either or both of the tablets.
The sources of this news cannot be really scoffed at, as they correctly predicted the features of the original iPad prior to launch and have also suggested that the iPad 2 will land with front and rear facing cameras to bring it inline with Apple’s cross-product FaceTime capabilities.
While the PlayBook prices have been revealed and features of the iPad 2 have also got some footage from us, the latest rumor looks quite interesting and might well be the deciding factor whether Apple continues to dominate the tablet market or will RIM bring a revolutionary change. For now, while Apple looks good to be the favorite for many, RIM is no small player either. The PlayBook has almost all the features it should, and is priced competitively too.
We can only wait for the release dates going official for now, and will obviously keep all our readers updated.
