A few days ago, we informed you about the rumours of a possible refresh of the iMac line of Computers. Guess what, the rumours were right and Apple has officially made the announcement.
The refreshed iMacs start from Rs. 64,990 and go all the Rs. 1,07,900. The Rs. 64,900 model is packed in with a 1080p monitor and powering its computer is a 2.5GHz Quad-Core i5 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory ,a 500GB Hard Drive as well as 512MB AMD Radeon HD 6750M GPU.
Refreshed, but only on the inside
The Rs. 1,07,900 model on the other hand has a 27-inch (2560 x 1440) monitor, along with a 3.1GHz Quad-Core i5 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB Hard Drive and a 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Those who want a bit more horse power can opt for the 3.4GHz quad-core Core i7 proc and a 2GB 6970M GPU. Also included in the refresh is the new Thunderbolt I/O which was co-developed by Apple and Intel.
While the news of a refresh is fine and dandy, the sad part about the refresh is that Apple did not change the look of the iMac, which to be honest is starting to look a bit dated.
Either way, here's how much the different new iMacs will cost you - the 21.5-inch iMac with a 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon HD 6750M and 500GB hard drive has a suggested retail price of Rs 64,900, while the variant with a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon HD 6770M and 1TB hard drive will cost Rs. 79,900. There are two variants for the 27-inch iMacs too; one with a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon HD 6770M and 1TB hard drive and one with a 3.1 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon HD 6970M and 1TB hard drive will set you back by Rs. 1,07,900.
