Apple Co-founder and former CEO, Steve Jobs passes away

Steve Jobs, the co-founder and former CEO of Apple has passed away at the age of 56. Jobs who had been suffering from various health related issues which included pancreatic cancer had stepped down from the post of CEO of Apple to make way for new CEO Tim Cook.  Apple confirmed this news by posting an image on their website which shows Steve Jobs’ timeline. In addition to this the company has posted a small message which reads, “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”

According to a report by AllThingsD, the board of directors at Apple also released a statement which says that Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. The board goes on to say that their hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

New Apple CEO, Tim Cook said that they are planning a celebration for Apple employees to honour Steve’s life where one can share their thoughts memories and condolences.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Steve’s family and loved ones. A legend has passed and although the man may not be amongst us anymore, his passion and spirit for technology will forever stay with us.
