Apple Can Now Legally View Samsung's Designs

Apple is probably having the proverbial ‘time of its life’. Imagine getting to take a sneak peek into your competitor’s works, and legally at that. That’s just what has Apple on a virtual high, these days. We reported a while ago that Apple had taken competitor Samsung to court after the former alleged that the latter had used its patented designs on its phones. Last week, a new development took place on this front. Federal Judge Lucy Koh stated in a ruling, last week that Apple can peep into Samsung’s yet to be released line-up with legal permissions on them; just to confirm if their designs don’t match those of Apple’s products.

The list of products that Apple can look into include the Galaxy S II, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, the Infuse 4G, and the Infuse 4G LTE. Considering the amount of evidence provided by Apple to the court, Samsung, by all means, seems to be the guilty one. The only silver lining for Samsung in this whole episode is the fact that only Apple’s legal team will be allowed to see the yet to be released Samsung products. So to say, three out of the five products mentioned have already been released in the U.K. and USA, and therefore, Samsung will have to part with the secrecy of any two of its products with Apple.
