Android users might see a few new apps by Rovio Mobile, the creators of Angry Birds, in the Android Market. These apps are fraudulent and are designed by scammers to steal the money you would pay for an app. According to TheGadgets, the following apps have problems: Alice 4 Ever, Call of Duty Zombies, Angry Birds 3D, Zombieville, Zombie Highway, Tiny Wings, Catch the Candy, Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift, Rat on a Skateboard, Zombie Gunship, Resident Evil 4 and Siege Hero. The descriptions of these apps to have been copy pasted from geniune apps' descriptions. The scammers have even listed websites to these apps, which finally link to the Rovio Mobile official website. When these apps are launched, they do not work and the developers have refused refunds.
The birds are not in 3D, yet
Google has been alerted of this problem and the problem apps have been removed from the Market. To prevent problems in the future, read app descriptions and user reviews for any scam alerts. Of course, pay attention for multiple spelling and grammar errors in the app's description and check the number of downloads to the amount of time the app has been available. An app which has existed for a long time with relatively fewer downloads could be a problem app.
