Telecom major Bharti Airtel's service was disrupted in Delhi-NCR in late Friday evening due to a technical glitch but was restored after a few hours.
Many Airtel customers posted messages over non-availability of mobile network on social media platforms in late evening hours. The IVR system of the company said that customers will not be able to use voice and data service for sometime due to some technical reasons. When contacted, an Airtel spokesperson admitted that there was "a network outage in Delhi NCR. One of our network nodes has been corrupted and we are working to fix it."
After few hours, the company said services have been restored. "Network services in Delhi NCR are now fully restored. Once again we are sorry for the inconvenience caused...," an Airtel spokesperson said in a late night statement.

The company has 11.6 million mobile customers in Delhi NCR.
In March, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) had directed Airtel to take off its ‘Fastest Network’ ad campaign after the fast-track complaints committee (FTCC) found that Airtel’s claims were in contravention of the ASCI guidelines on disclaimers. According to ASCI, the Airtel TVC does not state in its commercial that the test was conducted only during the Q3-Q4 2016 period. The Ookla Speedtest app had put the claims by Airtel under doubt.
