Acer’s long term plans may be to cut down on efforts in the netbook market and focus more on tablets, but for the time, that doesn’t look to change in India, at least for the time being. Acer have launched a new model in the Indian market called the eM350, which is a 10.1-inch netbook running on an Intel Atom N450 processor, 1 GB of memory and a 250 GB hard drive. The netbook will come bundled with Windows 7 Starter installed on it.
Acer has a tieup with MTS for their MBlaze broadband service which will be bundled with the netbook. The new laptop is being sold with a free 3G MTS MBlaze dongle for Rs. 10,999. The MRP for the product is Rs. 12,999. The user gets a refund of Rs. 2,000 when he registers the dongle. This offer is valid only till the end of January 2011. Acer has lined up a similar line of cash refund schemes through the year to entice customers. This offer will first begin with the northern region of India around Delhi.
