5 Android 'Gingerbread' Rumors, That are Actually True!

Froyo has not even showed up on many devices (including my Milestone) and speculations, gossip and rumors are already flooding twitter and other forums about how Gingerbread is going to kick iPhone/iPad where it actually hurts. I got really tired of hearing all this and wanted to let you know what the top 5 gossip/rumors about Google's next installment of the Android OS 3.0 code-named 'Gingerbread' are, which actually also happen to be true.

1) Hardware Specs For Gingerbread Released
Unconfirmed reports show that Google's Developer blog had recently, posted some test results of an alpha of the Android 3.0, 'Gingerbread'. According to the test results, the yet to come Android installment, will have minimum hardware specs of 1GHZ CPU (Dual-Core recommended), 512MB of RAM, displays from 3.5" and higher. It will be running on a Linux kernel 3.0, which will also boast of a sexy new look and a smashing UI.

To add to the fire, the current devices which will be getting updates of 2.1 & 2.2 won't be supporting Android 3.0 for a simple reason that devices will be only shipped with that version, and not be available for an OTA update. Some reports also suggest, (unconfirmed again) that the new 1280
