Micromax today launched the 2017 model of the Canvas 2. The new Canvas 2 is priced at Rs 11,999 and features Corning's Gorilla Glass 5, which the company claims can withstand drops from a height of 1.6 meters.
And that indeed is the USP of the 2017 Micromax Canvas 2.
From a design standpoint, the handset features a glass screen on the front and a metal body that should lend it a premium look and feel.
The device features a 5-inch HD display with 400 nits brightness. Inside, there is a quad-core MediaTek 6737 chipset clocked at 1.3GHz. The chipset is paired with 3GB RAM and comes with 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage is expandable using a microSD card slot.
Coming to the cameras, the 2017 Canvas 2 features a 13 MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture, while the front-facing camera is a 5 MP wide-angle selfie unit with a 4P lens. Micromax has also added a software level bokeh effect.
The handset, surprisingly, runs Android 7.0 Nougat and supports 4G VoLTE. You get the usual connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB port at the bottom.
All of the above is powered by a 3,050 mAh battery.
The Micromax Canvas 2 will be available in stores and sold across offline channels in Chrome and Champagne finishes.
