As the battle with LG to launch the first curved smartphone heats up, a tech website has leaked the specifications of the upcoming Samsung smartphone. The company had already confirmed that they will launch a curved smartphone in October this year.
A report on AndroidSAS says that the device would feature a 4.7-inch curved display with 1280x720p resolution. It will be powered by a quad-core CPU and have 2GB RAM as well as an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash.
LG has not confirmed plans to unveil such a device yet, but rumours of a phone with a flexible screen called G flex have already hit the internet.
AndroidSAS’ report also mentions that contrary to earlier reports, Samsung will not be bring out a curved variant of the Galaxy Note 3, but release an all-together new handset. There is no word on what type of battery is expected to be on it.
However, it will run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).
Curved display is already commercially available in large-screen televisions. LG had introduced a curved 55-inch OLED TV in May 2013 this year.
