While Apple fans all across Europe, Asia, Australia has been lining up outside the stores for days to get their hands on the iPhone 5, a gang of thieves in Japan decided to help themselves to the smartphones much before the launch.

According to the Wall Street Journal report

Clearly this gang timed their act well. The iphone 5 is on its way to become the fastest selling iPhone ever. Analysts have estimated Apple will ship as many as 10 million of the new iPhones by the end of September. The smartphone is already sold out pre-order.

As for India fans who are hoping that the smartphone will reach India soon, there is good news. There have been reports that Vodafone, Airtel and Aircel have placed orders for Nano-SIMs. The iPhone 5 only uses Nano-SIMs. The buzz is that the iPhone 5 could be launched in India by October or early November.

Meanwhile for now the iPhone 5 (White 16GB version) is selling on ebay for a whopping Rs 129,500. Waiting might not be such a bad idea. The smartphone is likely to be priced between Rs 45,000 to 50,000 when it is launched in India.
