Tech2.Games S01E15: Cowboys, nitro junkies, tanks and lightsabers

Around a week after Rockstar Games announced that they would make an announcement about Red Dead Redemption 2, Official Trailer #2 dropped, and there’s some major wild west-ing happening here. Saloons, train robberies, lassoing, bow and arrow(!), tough-talking prospectors and advances in facial animation tech are the clear highlights, while its apparent that things are all set to go south real fast. Watch it below.

Dr.Harleen Quinzel makes an appearance in Batman: The Enemy Within

Old Batsy gets to play the Detective once again, as Harley Quinn turns up in Gotham.  But it’s the last few seconds in this trailer that make things interesting, with the introduction of another nemesis.

Expect to make some hard choices in this episode, all while cracking some skulls in QTE action.

This cinematic trailer from Assassin’s Creed Origins is short on dialogue and bombast

If the reworked combat and exploration-only mode aren’t doing anything for you, maybe this new ‘From Sand’ trailer for Assassin’s Creed Origins will get you hyped for the game.

Subtle, right? The music swells at the right times and the imagery reflects the theme of the game: a civilization on the brink of collapse. The game comes out at the end of this month, on October 27th.

Go behind the Dota 2 eSports scene in this documentary

Follow Team Liquid and Newbee as they battle it out in the grand finals of this year’s big Dota 2 event, The International 2017 in this latest instalment of Dota 2’s “True Sight” documentary series.

This was a significant milestone for eSports, with a world record grand prize of $10.9 million. What resulted was not necessarily the most competitive game of Dota 2, but arguably the most important. If you liked what you watched, also check out this other episode of True Sight, where the spotlight is on The Kiev Major Grand Finals.

John Boyega gives you the lowdown on Star Wars Battlefront 2

There’s nearly five minutes of Battlefront 2 goodness in this new trailer for the game. Narrated by John Boyega who plays ex-Storm Trooper and surprising lightsaber prodigy Finn in the Star Wars movies, all the features of this year’s Battlefront are revealed. At first glance, there appears to be a lot of content on offer here.

The more I see of Battlefront 2, the more I can’t help feeling that we got a half-realised version a couple of years back. Battlefront 2 looks like the real deal, helped in no small part by the graphics engine. The force is strong with this one.

Have you tried the Call of Duty WW2 PC beta yet?

It came out a day early, and there’s over a day to go (if you’re reading this on Sunday, 1 October). I got some game time with it, and it plays surprisingly well. Yes, there are connection issues, but I found myself enjoying the objective based “War” mode.

All the content from the private beta for console (check the trailer above) is available to play on PC. Overall, the multiplayer isn’t particularly interesting save for War, but the sound appears to have been enhanced since the console beta, and it does add to the experience. However, I’m not sure if the multiplayer is going to carry this game as it most often has in the past.

Need for Speed Payback welcomes you to Fortune Valley

Despite the dodgy narration of this trailer for the latest installment of Need for Speed Payback, showcases the game’s massive open world and activities within.

It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a Need for Speed game, but I might just end up putting pedal to the metal come 10 November.

Oh look, you can grab Tekken 7 for less than a third of its price on the PlayStation Store. The game’s been well received by both critics and players, and if it’s a fighting game you’re looking for, Tekken 7 is sure to fit the bill. Another game worth checking out on PS4 is Hitman. The game’s endlessly replayable Complete First Season has been marked down by 54 percent on the PlayStation Store.

This Activision sale on Xbox is worth a peek as well. This 80 percent off on Duck Dynasty aside, the games in this list are all pretty good. I would highly recommend King’s Quest: The Complete Collection which is half off right now. There are Call of Duty games on sale as well, of course.

Critically acclaimed platformer Cuphead is out on Steam, and even at full price, the game is practically on sale. Grab it for Rs 565 here. Elsewhere, Supergiant Games’ Pyre is 25 percent off.
