E3 2017: Rocket League developer announces that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch by year end

Rocket League, a popular multiplayer racing / sports title is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Players have to use vehicles with power ups and play against opposing teams. Though the football mode is the most popular, variants include basketball and ice hockey. Fans of the title have been demanding that the game be made available on the Nintendo Switch, and the developer, Psyonix has obliged.

The announcement was made during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3 2017. The game will have all the cars, content and game modes available on other platforms. In addition, there are some exclusive Battle Cars and customization items just for the Nintendo Switch. These include Mario and Luigi hat toppers. There is a short trailer which does not show much of the customisations or the gameplay.

The game will support all the play modes on the Nintendo Switch. This includes the Tabletop, Handheld and TV modes, as well as local and online multiplayer. Up to eight players can play on a single arena in the multiplayer mode. There is also cross network play supported, so users of the Nintendo Switch can play with those using an Xbox One or on Steam. Psyonix has indicated that there will be more details available towards the release date, which is towards the end of the year.
