E3 2017: Report suggests Xbox Scorpio will be priced at $499

Microsoft will reveal the much anticipated details around the mighty powerful Xbox Scorpio today in a couple of hours. But before the event starts at this years E3 gaming expo, we are hearing that the price of the new console has been revealed.

According to Geoff Keighley who is a well known games journalist and producer of The Game Awards that the new Xbox will not be cheap. He suggests that the Xbox Scorpio could cost $499 (Rs 39,000 approx). Just a few hours back he tweeted  "I can now say with confidence Project Scorpio is $499. Unless something changes today, that is what will be announced."

He also repeated the price reveal in a post on NeoGAF saying "the price is $499 and that is what has been rehearsed." No prizes for guessing what rehearsal he is talking about.

Considering the $399 mark of the PlayStation 4 Pro, Microsoft will make things easier for Sony. No doubt, the Xbox Scorpio does sound like beast on paper, but consumers will definitely by attracted to the lower price point of Sony's latest console which was launched a few months back.

A few hours back we reported that the Xbox One S received an official price cut of $50 (Rs 3,400 approx) which is of course to make way for Xbox Scorpio and could be a way to balance potential customers. Sadly the Xbox One S hasn't launched in India as of yet.
