Coming soon: Jelly Bean updates for Galaxy S III, Note 10.1

by Aug 30, 2012

Samsung’s IFA 2012 keynote, confirmed that Jelly Bean or Android 4.1 would finally be released for the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note tablet 10.1. According to Engadget Samsung said a Jelly Bean update is coming to both the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note 10.1 “very soon.”

Samsung didn’t mention if the original Galaxy Note was also getting the Jelly Bean update. For now many are assuming that this device too will get the update. Earlier this month, a video showing  a Galaxy S III with Jelly Bean loaded on it, was leaked online. You can watch the video at the end of this post.

So what should Galaxy S III users hope for with Jelly Bean?

The Jelly Bean update is here.

Project Butter: Jelly Bean is aimed at ensuring that your quad-core Android runs much faster and smoother, just like butter.

Sharper Notifications: Google’s new OS will also bring phone notifications to an all new level.

Google Now: Google’s answer to Apple’s Siri and works on the same lines.

Android Beam: Jelly Bean comes with Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities.
