LG G Flex curved screen smartphone: All the key features

LG today announced the launch of the LG G Flex smartphone which has a plastic curved screen OLED display. The smartphone will go on sale in South-Korea from November,although its not sure when or if the smartphone will hit other markets. The smartphone is seen as competitor to Samsung’s newly lauched Galaxy Round which also has a curved OLED screen. Key features of the LG smartphone are: 1) It has a 6-inch Plastic OLED (POLED) display, which LG says is ultra-thin and light. The company says that the POLED display and curved OLED panel are built on plastic substrates instead of glass which gives the LG G Flex its unique shape and durability.The screen resolution is 1280x720p. It has a 3,500mAh battery which LG says should provide enough power for a full day’s use. 3) It has a 2.26 GhZ Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with Adreno 330 clocked at 450 MHz for graphics. The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage space. 4) It runs the Android 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean and has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front camera. 5) The Korean version of the smartphone supports LTE-Adavance for 4G, and HSPA+ for better 3G connectivity. It also supports Bluetooth 4.0 and is compatible with USB 3.0 version. The phone also supports WiFi and NFC. It will be available in Titan Silver. Some software features of the smartphone from LG include: • QTheater which gives users quick access to photos, videos and YouTube right from the lock screen. • Dual Window that divides the wide 6-inch screen into two separate windows. • Swing Lockscreen alters the image on the lockscreen depending on how the G Flex is held. • Face Detection Indicator displays the LED on the Rear Key in green to confirm status of face detection and focus.
