U.S. says should have sent high level official to Paris march

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Monday conceded that the United States should have sent a higher-level representative to a Paris unity march after deadly Islamic militant attacks there and said President Barack Obama would liked to have come. Some Republican lawmakers and U.S. media outlets have criticized Obama's administration for not sending a top leader to the march, which featured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas flanking the leaders of France, Germany and Mali #Business #Obama #India #Technology #markets #Argentina #United Kingdom #French #Mexico #author #Bird flu #Real estate

After Ebola, WHO blames governments and seeks more clout

Nigeria's military says 150 killed in Boko Haram clashes in Baga

ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigeria's military said on Monday that at least 150 people had been killed in clashes with Islamists in the northeastern town of Baga, giving a rare official death toll a few weeks before presidential elections in which security is a big issue. Defence spokesman Major-General Chris Olukolade was reacting to reports that some 2,000 had been killed by Boko Haram insurgents who took control of Baga and the surrounding area 10 days ago. The military is fighting to reclaim it. #Brazil #France #Arabic #markets #Argentina #United Kingdom #author #Bird flu #opinion #Real estate

Canadian police fail to stop violence against Aboriginals - report

TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian police have failed to adequately prevent and protect indigenous women and girls from killings, disappearances and extreme forms of violence, a U.S.-based human rights group said on Monday. The damning 127-page report by the branch of the Organization of American States said police failure and systemic discrimination against Canada's Aboriginal community has contributed to the plight of missing or murdered indigenous women and the poverty that is at the root of the violence. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said last May that 1,017 Aboriginal women had been murdered between 1980 and 2012. #India #Technology #France #markets #Argentina #United Kingdom #Mexico #author #Bird flu #Real estate

LONDON (Reuters) - Several expensive cancer medicines will no longer be available on Britain's state-funded National Health Service (NHS) following an overhaul of an over-budget drug funding scheme, NHS England said on Monday. The revamp was triggered by the escalating cost of supplying modern cancer therapies, which often cost tens of thousands of pounds for a course of treatment. #facebook #Pakistan #Technology #France #Arabic #Russia #Argentina #United Kingdom #Latin America #Mexico #opinion #Real estate
