Rocky start to U.S. Democratic convention as Sanders backers resist Clinton | Reuters

WASHINGTON U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders on Monday urged his supporters to back former rival Hillary Clinton's White House bid, but drew jeers from his supporters as dissent enveloped the opening day of the Democratic Party's convention. Sanders' followers shouted "We want Bernie" in a show of anger at both Clinton's defeat of him in the presidential nomination race and emails leaked on Friday suggesting the Democratic leadership had tried to sabotage Sanders' insurgent campaign. #science #Hillary Clinton #United Kingdom #democratic #graphics

Suspected Congo yellow fever cases up 38 percent in last three weeks: WHO | Reuters

KINSHASA The number of suspected yellow fever cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo has jumped 38 percent in the last three weeks, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday, as health officials prepare to launch a vaccination campaign next week. Congo's government last month declared a yellow fever epidemic in the capital Kinshasa and two provinces that border Angola, where the worst outbreak of the disease in decades has killed about 350 people. As of July 11, Congo had recorded 1,798 suspected cases since the start of the outbreak in January, WHO said in a weekly report, up from 1,307 on June 24. #Sports #India #science #Health #Argentina #democratic #article

Let's debate Uniform Civil Code because we've long ignored real minorities

The secularism debate, which reflexively seeks a ban on any debate over Uniform Civil Code, fails to take into account that in the name of protecting Muslims or other minorities' rights, communal rights have been prioritized over human rights of individual within minority groups. #BJP #Constitution of India #Law Commission #Uniform Civil Code #democratic #Minority rights #secular #All India Muslim Law Personal Board #Sharia courts #Article 25 #triple talaq #Zakia Soman #common civil code #BMMA #Farah Faiz
