German police arrest Algerian suspect who yelled 'I'll blow you up' | Reuters

BERLIN German police on Wednesday arrested a 19-year-old Algerian refugee who had fled a psychiatric facility earlier in the day yelling, "I'll blow you up," ending the latest in a string of incidents that have set the country's nerves on edge. German federal police arrested the asylum-seeker at the Bremen main train station after an hours-long manhunt that prompted the evacuation of a Bremen shopping centre, according to police in the neighbouring state of Lower Saxony. They said an investigation was continuing. #Business #Middle East #Apple #markets #article

Japan killings suspect offered to euthanise disabled, wanted 'world peace' | Reuters

TOKYO One day before he tried to hand a letter to a top Japanese lawmaker offering to kill hundreds of disabled people, the suspect in Japan's worst mass killing in decades tweeted: "I don't know if it's right, but action is the only way." Less than six months later, Satoshi Uematsu, 26, was arrested on suspicion of stabbing 19 people to death and wounding dozens of others as they slept at a centre for the disabled where he had worked for more than three years until February. Police have yet to comment on the motive for Tuesday's killing spree, which has shocked a nation with one of the lowest crime rates in the world and where mass murders are rare. #India #science #Apple #markets #United Kingdom

Battle for Falluja will end in western district, says Iraqi commander | Reuters

FALLUJA, Iraq U.S.-backed Iraqi forces fighting Islamic State militants in Falluja are advancing towards jihadist strongholds in western districts where they expect the final push to recapture the city will take place, the Iraqi commander said on Monday. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory on Friday after troops reached the centre of the city, an hour's drive west of Baghdad, but an official in the U.S.-led coalition said on Sunday Iraqi forces had so far taken only half of Falluja. The operation to recapture the Iraqi city longest held by Islamic State entered its fifth week on Monday, and fighting has forced more than 85,000 residents to flee to overwhelmed government-run camps #science #Apple #markets #Iraq #article
