Islamic State suicide bomber in women's garb kills three in Saudi Arabia| Reuters

ABU DHABI/DUBAI An Islamist militant suicide bomber disguised as a woman blew himself up outside a Shi'ite mosque in eastern Saudi Arabia on Friday, killing himself and three other people, the second attack of its kind in the world's top oil exporter in one week. The bombing, which was claimed by Islamic State, could further escalate sectarian strife in the kingdom, where anti-Shi'ite sentiment has been stoked by a military campaign against Iranian-allied Houthi militias in neighbouring Yemen since March #Economy #India #Syria #France #Middle East #markets #Argentina #Iraq #Kuwait #opinion

Islamic State settles into Ramadi, but the lull unlikely to last| Reuters

BAGHDAD The blind man with just one hand arrived at the main mosque in the centre of the Iraqi city of Ramadi at dusk on Wednesday, flanked by Islamic State fighters. When the evening prayer was over, the man, whose head was shrouded in black, delivered a speech to the faithful, hailing the Islamic State's capture of the capital of Anbar Province -- its greatest victory over Iraqi forces in almost a year. Ali Attiya al-Jubouri, widely known as "the blind judge", is one of Islamic State's most senior figures and his presence in the mosque signalled the group's dominance over the city, which it seized on May 17 from hapless government forces. #Business #Economy #India #Syria #France #markets #Africa #Copyright #Iraq #Mexico #opinion

Western women who join Islamic State defy jihadi bride stereotype - report | Reuters

LONDON Western women joining Islamic State are increasingly from comfortable backgrounds and often well educated with romantic notions of adventure often quickly dispelled by the harshness of life as a "Jihadi bride", according to a British research report. Some 550 women from Western countries have left their homelands to join Islamic State, which has captured swathes of Syria and Iraq, said the report by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue and the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation at King's College, London. #United States #Syria #Technology #Health #Latin America #Iraq #Entertainment #opinion #lifestyle

Life in Israel Caught amidst hostile neighbours, bad options

Without going into the compelling but competing narratives of why and how Israel landed in what seems a perpetually hostile dynamic, it is easy to see that it is surrounded by hostile neighbors and there is no strategic depth of geography. #HowThisWorks #Syria #Al-Qaeda #Israel #Golan Heights
