ROME Police in Sicily arrested 11 suspected mobsters they believe were helping Sicilian mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro evade capture and spread his orders to the rest of the criminal organisation. The suspects used coded language and hand-written notes to communicate with the highest-ranking Sicilian mob boss currently at large, police said in a statement. Italy coast guard rescues 1,800 sea migrants, five found dead| Reuters

ROME Italy's coast guard said about 1,800 migrants were rescued from seven overcrowded vessels on Saturday, while five corpses were found on a large rubber boat carrying 212 others. The dead bodies were found on board at the time of the rescue, a coast guard spokeswoman said on Sunday. DUBAI A sister of former al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed along with her husband and mother when a private jet crashed in southern England on Friday, Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television reported on Saturday. The Embraer Phenom 300 with four people on board including its Jordanian pilot was flying from Milan's Malpensa airport to Blackbushe airport in southern England when it crashed at a car auction site, the Dubai-based news channel reported on its website. BRUSSELS NATO and its allies will hold their biggest military exercise in more than a decade from October, deploying 36,000 personnel across the Mediterranean to counter the threat of Islamic State on the alliance's southern flank.
