The All-India Senior Selection Committee met at Kolkata earlier today, to pick the Indian team for the fourth Test against England, to be played at Nagpur from 13 December 2012 to 17 December 2012, and the T20 International Series against England, to be played at Pune and Mumbai on 20 December 2012 and 22 December 2012 respectively. The selectors reacted to India’s second consecutive home loss by dropping Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh. Their places in the squad have been taken by Parwinder Awana and Ravindra Jadeja, who scored two triple centuries in Ranji Trophy cricket recently. Murali Vijay is back in the squad as a back-up batsman while Piyush Chawla has also got a call-up. The decision to drop Yuvraj basically means that Ajinkya Rahane might finally get a go in the Test team.
