England 164-4 after 20 overs
Morgan 71*, Buttler 1*
Good effort from England— especially Morgan and Hales but they've fallen short of 15 runs. They will however, take heart from the fact that the West Indies bowling is not all-mighty and has its failings. With the start Windies had, this match should have been over a long time back.
England 162-4 after 19.4 overs
Hales st Ramdin b Samuels 68 (51b, 5x4, 2x6)
Gone then... but what an innings it's been from the big-hitter. Great stuff.
England 157-3 after 19 overs
Hales 68, Morgan 64
3-6-0-6-1-0 . That's how the over has gone for England. 23 needed from last over.
England 110-3 after 18 overs
Hales 65, Morgan 52
Narine is really a mystery spinner. At least sometimes it seems true. The bowler ends his quota of four overs with an excellent six balls which go for only seven runs. Morgan though is growing in stature with two fours and a six since the 15th over... but maybe it's too late.
England 110-3 after 15 overs
Hales 59, Morgan 28
Morgan the big-hitter is finally living up to his billing. He has first picked up Gayle's low full-toss and slapped it for six before Narine offers him some room and gets the same treatment.
England 86-3 after 13 overs
Hales 52, Morgan 10
If England want to win this, then Hales has to remain at the crease. In other words, he is probably their only hope. He thumps a four and a six off Samuels' over but on the other end is Morgan who can also do the same. If these two get going, England may have some hope.
WICKET! England 55-3 after 10 overs
Jonny Bairstow c Pollard b Gayle 18 (29b, 2x4, 0x6)
Bairstow think he has certainly cleared the ropes for six, but as it happens, Kieron Pollard emerges magically onto the screen to take a fantastic running catch. Brilliant stuff and Gayle breaks into a jig.
England 49-2 after 8 overs
Bairstow 15, Hales 32
Good stuff from both batsmen especially after the way England started this run-chase. Hales slams a four before pulling a delivery flat over square-leg for six. Bairstow has also flicked one behind for four more. Much needed these runs as England look to rebuild.
England 25-2 after 5 overs
Bairstow 8, Hales 17
Hales has lifted the gloom a bit from the English dug out, and it is thanks to three fours in the last two overs. The first one of those was a brilliant cover-drive.
England 8-2 after 3 overs
Bairstow 6, Hales 2
Something to cheer for the English fans as Bairstow pulls away for four runs. Otherwise, there is no doubt only one team looks like taking it from here. England need a partnership.
England 0-2 after 0.3 overs
Craig Kieswetter c Pollard b Rampaul 0 (2b, 0x4, 0x6)
Luke Wright c Gayle b Rampaul 0 (1b, 0x4, 0x6)
A really bad shot gave away Kieswetter's wicket. He was taken at point after the ball just looped into the air. Very next ball, Rampaul manages to force an edge from Wright and it's taken at first slip.
ENGLAND COME OUT TO BAT
West Indies 179-5 after 20 overs
Bravo 11*, Russell 10*
Two fours from Russell and two from Bravo have taken the Windies to a competitive total. England will have to play Sunil Narine well to stand any chance of chasing this one down.
WICKET! West Indies 158-5 after 18.3 overs
Darren Sammy b Broad 4 (3b, 0x4, 0x6)
Another one bites the dust. Broad the wicket-taker again (that's his 2nd of the night). He uses the slow yorker and Darren Sammy, for a moment, didn't know how his bails were gone.
WICKET! West Indies 154-4 after 17.5 overs
Johnson Charles c Bairstow b Dernbach 84 (56b, 10x4, 3x6)
Charles has played an excellent innings and looks to power towards his century with a heave over long-on. But Bairstow gets under it and sends him back to the hut. A total of 180-runs still looks possible for the Windies.
WICKET! West Indies 128-3 after 15.1 overs
Kieron Pollard c Wright b Finn 1 (5b, 0x4, 0x6)
Are the Windies tumbling? Sort of. Pollard just throws his bat at a ball and can't middle it. The ball travels to space before landing in Wright's waiting palms.
WICKET! West Indies 118-2 after 13.4 overs
Marlon Samuels c Morgan b Broad 2 (8b, 0x4, 0x6)
Wicket maiden for Broad and he sets a fine example for his team with that. A frustrated Samuels is desperate to free his arms... he does so and his whipped shot is straight to point.
WICKET! West Indies 103-1 after 11 overs
Chris Gayle c Finn b Swann 58 (35b, 6x4, 4x6)
Steve Finn has just redeemed himself. He first drops a high Charles shot when it should certainly have been taken. But when Gayle attempts to clear him and fails, he holds his nerve and takes it at long-on. Gayle gone!
West Indies 90-0 after 9 overs
Charles 37, Gayle 48
It has started. The last two overs have seen five sixes and a four. Gayle has smashed Patel for three sixes and then Charles makes up for all those dot balls with two massive sixes off Swann. Let the fireworks begin.
West Indies 53-0 after 7 overs
Charles 19, Gayle 29
It has slowed down considerably for the Windies. What England will be most happy about is their ability to shackle Gayle in the power-play. Charles on the other end has also not been able to score the quick runs.
West Indies 40-0 after 5 overs
Charles 14, Gayle 23
Gayle and Charles have scored a four each, but then Finn bowls a fantastic 5th over to keep Charles at bay— giving away just three runs in the over.
West Indies 26-0 after 3 overs
Charles 7, Gayle 17
Gayle, in his lucid style tonks a ball over point for four before taking a single to retain strike. Windies looking all-right as of now. England's bowling hasn't been inventive at all.
West Indies 20-0 after 2 overs
Charles 6, Gayle 12
Two short balls where Gayle doesn't quite do much. But the third one is dispatched for four before he scores two more— one racing past square-leg and the other straight past the bowler.
West Indies 6-0 after 1 over
Charles 6, Gayle 0
Charles manages to lump one over the wicket-keeper's head for four on the last ball. A bit unlucky for Steve Finn, who had otherwise bowled a fine over.
