Thought being vegan would hamper your team's chances of making it to the top leagues? Well, think again. English club Forest Green Rovers, which recently secured a slot in Division Two, is a completely vegan side. Its players stick to a strictly vegan diet, while only vegan food products are sold on match-day to the fans.
Funded by millionaire Dale Vince, who made his money through his work in the renewable energy sector, the club aims to promote an environment friendly approach to football. And who can blame it's approach? This is the first time the team has qualified to second division in its 128-year-long history and the side made the mark with a thin 18-member squad.
Forest Green Rovers also is set to become the first club outside of Europe's top leagues to have its players' faces captured in Electronic Arts' video game FIFA.
