'Virat Kohli! Take a bow': How Twitter reacted to Indian captain's double ton against New Zealand

The stupendous form of Virat Kohli in limited overs cricket in 2016 has now spilled over to Test cricket. In a span of two months, Kohli has scored two double centuries in the oldest format of the game. If his first maiden double at Antigua displayed his aggressive intent, the one at Indore showed the discipline he possesses as a batsman. He now holds the record of becoming the first Indian captain to score two double tons.

Before the match began, a journalist asked Kohli why there had been no centuries in the series so far. To which, he reacted, "Hota hai, cricket mai hota hai!" (it happens, in cricket it happens). And two days later, Kohli not only ended the century drought but went on to score a double.

With Ajinkya Rahane, he put up a partnership of 365 runs before getting out at 211 to Jeetan Patel. While Kohli and Rahane piled on runs to put New Zealand on rearguard, Twitter was inundated with reactions to the captain's record-breaking innings. Here are some of the best reactions to Kohli's clinical knock:
