Apr 5, 2012

Delhi Daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag praised Sachin Tendulkar’s accomplishment of scoring a hundred international tons, saying that only ‘God’ can reach such a special milestone.

Sehwag was speaking during an interview with NDTV and said, “Only God can do it.”

Sehwag hailed Tendulkar's feat. AFP

Sehwag will lead his Delhi Daredevils against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens for their first match of IPL 5 tonight. The hosts will be captained by his opening partner from the national side- Gautam Gambhir.

“It’s a nice change. He’s a very close friend and we get along really well. It’s good that we play our first match against each other.”

Sehwag seemed confident of the depth in his squad, while admitting that their performances were below par last year. He complained that their batting was a major problem last year and it was one of the reasons they strengthened that department for this year’s campaign.

Sehwag held back no stops in mentioning the immense belief he has in Delhi’s squad and when he was asked which team would win the title this year, he said: ”Delhi Daredevils, Delhi Daredevils and Delhi Daredevils.”

Sehwag, who is known more for his destructive batting can also chip in with his off-break and it will be interesting to see whether he will allow himself to contribute with the ball.
